The Story Behind The Cap

Born In The Black Country

Named after the birthplace of the industrial revolution in the Black Country of England, this cap was built to withstand the heat, for work and for play.

"Don't let the heat cramp your style."

One of our most versatile ivy caps – worn year-round, but made for warmer days. It can handle sweat, dirt, and the elements and is created with a linen-poly blend built to be one of the most breathable and versatile caps on the market.

Our caps are sized in CMs to get the best fit. For help measuring your head, reference this step-by-step guide.

A linen-poly blend combines the timeless character of natural linen with the durability and performance of modern fibers. Linen brings breathability, texture, and a relaxed appearance that has been valued for centuries, while polyester enhances strength, shape retention, and wrinkle resistance.

Crafting with this blend requires a careful balance, preserving the distinctive look and feel of linen while improving its everyday practicality. The result is a fabric that remains lightweight and comfortable through changing seasons, holds its structure throughout the day, and delivers a clean, refined finish.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Step 1: Wrap the soft tape, string, or cord around your head above your ears and eyebrows, where your cap usually sits.

Step 2: Double check to make sure the tape comes down far enough at the back of your head, hitting in the right spot.

Step 3: Take note of your measurement in CMs. If using a string or cord, mark where it meets so you can measure it using a traditional tape measure.

Step 4: Refer to the sizing chart above to see where you land.

For our comfort fit flex back caps, we always recommend sizing down. For our fitted caps, size up for a loose fit and size down if you prefer snug. Caps will usually stretch slightly, but rarely do they shrink.

Unfortunately, there is no universal sizing, so a Medium for one brand might be a Small for another. We highly recommend you measure your head to ensure you have an accurate size before ordering from Peaky Hat.

All of our caps are warehoused and shipped directly from Peoria, Illinois. If you place your order Monday through Friday before noon Eastern time, it ships out the exact same day.

We offer a 45-day window for returns and exchanges. Buying a cap online should be rewarding and enjoyable, not a risk. There is a $5 exchange fee and a $10 refund fee. If you ever have an issue, reach out to support@peakyhat.com and Ryan will handle it personally.

Our fabrics are sourced globally—from US mills to Scottish Harris Tweed and UK linens. The final stitching is done by a highly skilled team in Yiwu, China (the same district that produces caps for Stetson and Goorin Bros). We are completely transparent about this because we choose quality over optics, every time.
