Goat Suede Cap Care

How to Gently Remove Creases

Goat suede is a natural, flexible leather. Occasionally, minor creases may develop while your cap is packaged or in transit. Many light creases can be improved with a little care and patience.

  1. Gently Reshape

Using clean, dry hands, carefully smooth the affected area. You can gently push outward from inside the cap to help restore its natural shape. Avoid pulling or stretching the leather.

  2. Support and Rest

Loosely fill the crown of your cap with clean, white, undyed tissue paper or a soft cotton cloth. Use just enough material to support its natural shape without stretching it. Leave the cap supported in a cool, dry location for 24–48 hours, away from sunlight and heat.

(optional) If the suede fibers appear flattened after reshaping, lightly brush the affected area using a soft brush specifically designed for suede. Use gentle strokes with minimal pressure.

  3. Make it Yours

Wear it, wear it, and wear it some more! Over time, the leather will naturally come back to shape, taking on it's own unique character and fitting to your personal experience. Every mark is a moment in your story.

Important Precautions

Never use an iron, steamer, hairdryer, or direct heat to remove creases. Do not spray the cap with water or apply leather conditioners. These treatments may permanently alter the color, texture, or shape of goat suede.

Still Seeing a Crease?

Some natural markings and deeper creases may not disappear completely. If your cap arrived with a noticeable crease that remains after these steps, please contact Peaky Hat Customer Support with a photograph. We're happy to help.
